Citrus zest, brown sugar, almond

This is more than just a coffee. It’s the collective work of seven women farming in the highlands of the Lacco Valley in Cusco, Peru, backed by a cooperative that said no to shady middlemen, climate defeatism, and the idea that good coffee has to come from big names.

Grupo de Mujeres grow Typica, Bourbon, Catimor, and Caturra at altitudes between 1,450 and 2,300 meters. They ferment their cherries in ceramic pits using clean water from mountain lagoons, dry their beans on raised beds, and haul them by donkey to the nearest road. No shortcuts, no nonsense. Just bright, balanced coffee with soft sweetness, gentle acidity, and the kind of story that makes the cup hit deeper.

Their co-op pushes for climate resilience, gender equity, and fair pay—offering trainings in soil health, irrigation, pruning, and post-harvest practices that reduce water usage and carbon emissions. This is coffee rooted in resistance and regeneration.
